The first thing that catches the eye is the latticed door. Glass is fitted behind the lattice, and each lattice is handcrafted from solid wood about 45mm thick. As a result, slight unevenness and subtle variations remain, creating a warmth that isn't overly uniform.

The construction of the doors is also elaborate, with ingenuity visible throughout. Despite the slender and delicate lattice, no major distortions are observed even after many years. There are slight warps, but even these attest to the reliable craftsmanship of the artisans of that time.

Inside, there is one fixed shelf and one adjustable shelf. The appeal is that you can sense what's inside through the lattice, but it's not clearly visible.

Although compact, it offers more storage space than it appears, allowing you to store everything from daily necessities to hobby tools. For those who practice tea ceremony, it would be a useful place to store tea bowls, natsume, and water pitchers.
