Japanese ranma transom panel
An old Japanese ranma transom panel, said to have once been used in a castle.
The openwork design is cut from a single solid board.
Some parts of the decorative details are missing.
Old Japanese nails, shaped by hand through hammering, are used in its construction.
Made of cedar with a beautiful grain, it is relatively lightweight and would make an attractive decorative piece displayed on a wall.
There are chips and losses in several areas. No hardware for wall mounting is included.
